On Dasher, On Blitzen!

Swansons Nursery has a Christmas jack-pot for kids. Two reindeer (Dasher & Blitzen) and a camel that the kids can feed, an electric train set (which Parker could watch go round and round for hours), and Santa's sleigh. We also visited their fish pond and little playhouse before we finally got rained out. And the trip was made extra special because we met up for all this fun with our friends Finn and Reid. Definitely an outing worth repeating.

Christmas Creek Tree Farm + SANTA!

We found our tree, David cut it down, and the boys got to visit Santa. Not bad for one rainy Saturday morning.

Tree Lighting at Bethany

Philip Turns 6!!

Philip celebrated turning 6 with a Seahawks themed birthday party. This of course called for a football cake, yummy "concessions", a football piñata, and an impromptu football game in the street. Check out Parker's enthusiasm as he cheers on his fellow party goers getting after the piñata (which was set on a tree stand after it was knocked down without being knocked open).
Happy Birthday Philip!!

Giving Thanks

{Thanksgiving 2015}

We have so much to be thankful for - not the least of which is celebrating holidays with family. We've started making a mini tradition of lining the kids up on the couch for a picture on Thanksgiving and they actually all at least attempted smiles. Unfortunately, once again this year we didn't remember to take this photo until after cousin Lucian left. We'll remember next year, I promise!

Parker the Surgery Champ

Parker had surgery a couple weeks ago to repair a hernia that he has probably had since birth. David and I were a little freaked out at the prospect of our little boy being put under and cut into, but Parker was an absolute champ. He loved chatting with the nurses and doctors and when it was finally time to head off to the operating room, Parker and Brown Dog confidently led the way with a whole gaggle of staff trailing behind them. The surgery went great and Parker happily took advantage of everyone's post-operation kindness by devouring two popsicles, two bags of goldfish crackers, and then a milkshake on the way home. Once home, he was delighted to partake in a couple days of movie marathons and cuddling on the couch. Then, four days later he was back at school with barely any soreness. Now, two weeks post surgery, he's as good as new (arguably better since he no longer has a hernia) - back to swim lessons, bike riding, and general Parker craziness. Either the Seattle Children's Hospital Urology staff is amazing or kids are truly resilient, maybe both. Praise the Lord!
