Spring Break Photos: Maui

For Parker's Spring Break we went on a family trip to Maui! Actually, calling it a family trip doesn't tell the full story. It was actually five families' trips. The Pannonis, Verhasselts, Hueys, and Huhmensons were there for the week as well so in addition to some quality family time we also got to have a ton a fun with our friends. We all stayed at the Honua Kai Resort, just north of Lahaina on Maui's Kaanapali North Beach, which was a great mash-up of hotel and condos. It was nice to have a kitchen for cooking meals when we wanted to go that route and yet still have the convenience of a restaurant and housekeeping. The boys loved the pool, hot tub, water slide, and lazy river, but I think the most frequently requested spot was the beach.

All of our families in the pool together was quite the sight and I'm pretty sure other families left to get away from our chaos. Most of the time I stayed.:-) Parker was like a fish in the water and after a bit of warming up to the idea Conway was paddling around in his little Puddle Jumper too.

I was kind of nervous about the six hour flight (both because of the boys and my seven months pregnant self), but it actually went pretty well. David did the bulk of the work keeping the boys entertained on the plane and of course movies helped. Ha.

Here are some photos of the madness, if you're interested...

Samantha Turns 4!

And she celebrated with the obvious theme - Rainbow Unicorn! Not everyone was as enthusiastic as her to be wearing a unicorn horn, but most of us played along because seriously, is she not the cutest?!
Happy Birthday Samantha!!

Parker's First T-Ball Game

Coach David had the kids as ready as they were going to be for their first t-ball game and it really was super entertaining to watch. Everyone gets to bat and run the bases. Fielding is pretty comedic as half the kids chase after the ball while the other half stand and watch with a dazed and confused look on their faces - I'll let you guess which camp Parker was in based on the below picture :-). All in all, they seemed to be having fun and they were definitely cute.

New Favorite Activity: Rest

You read that right. Parker and Conway love to play a new game they call "rest". They spread out their blankets, crawl underneath, and lay there with Brown Dog and Teddy, respectively. The actual resting lasts for approximately 10 seconds before either one of them feels the need to reposition, get their water, get another stuffed animal, or any other number of possible interruptions. For me, though, those 10 seconds are glorious! It's my new favorite activity too.
